SSC CPO 2017 Exam Detailed Information.
SSC released official notification for SSC CPO 2017. The SSC CPO Tier I exam will take place from 1st Aug 2017 to 20th Aug 2017 in different slots. All the eligible applicants can apply and fill the online SSC CPO application form 2017 from 16th May via SSC official website - ssconline.nic.in. The Staff Selection Commission will be made an announcement of approving approximately 30000 SSC posts via SSC CPO 2017 recruitment.
SSC CPO exam 2017 Important Updates:
SSC has changed SSC CPO 2017 Exam pattern. The duration of Tier I Exam has been changed from 75 minutes to 60 minutes. Remaining format of the exam like number of Questions and marks like 100 Questions and 200 Marks is not altered. Further updates will also available in this section. NOTE- II: Only those candidates, qualified in PET/PST and found medically fit will be allowed to appear in Paper-II.
Before starting the SSC CPO 2017 recruitment exam preparation, it is important to make note of changes in exam pattern and syllabus.
SSC CPO Tier-I Exam Pattern
The SSC CPO Tier-I exam is an objective type exam which will be held via online mode. Total four sections available is the Tier-I exam with 100 questions which comprising of 200 marks. The details are given below:-

11(A) Ssc-Cpo Physical Standards
Eligibility Tests (For all posts)
Height : Male = 170 in cms
Female = 157 cms
Physical Efficiency(Endurance) Test(PET) ( For all posts)
For male candidates only
a) 100 meters race in 16 seconds
b) 1.6 Kms race in 6.5 minutes
c) Long Jump : 3.65 metres in 3 chances
d) High Jump : 1.2 metres in 3 chances
e) Shot put (16 Lbs): 4.5 metres in 3 chance
For female candidates only
a) 100 metres race in 18 seconds
b) 800 metres race in 4 minutes
c) Long Jump: 2.7 metres (9 feet) in 3 chances.
d) High Jump : 0.9 metres (3 feet) in 3 chances.
1. There shall be no minimum requirement of chest measurement for Female candidates.
2. Relaxation in height and chest (as the case may be) as mentioned above will be permissible only on production of certificate in the preform as prescribed in Annexure VIII from the competent authorities of the District where they ordinarily reside(s).
3. “The relaxation in physical standards (height/ chest) once granted at the time of initial appointment in Delhi Police will hold good till the individual concerned remains in Delhi Police.”
4. Those candidates who are declared not qualified in Physical Standards, i.e. height and chest, may prefer an appeal, if they so desire, to the appellate authority present on the PET ground. The decision of the appellate authority will be final and no further appeal or representation in this regard will be entertained.
11(B) Weight: Corresponding to height for all posts.
11(C) Medical standard (For all posts)
The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without correction i.e. without wearing of glasses.
1) The candidate must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision.
2) They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to 13 interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.
11(D) SSC-CPO Physical endurance test will not carry any marks but will be of qualifying/elimination nature.
NOTE: Ex-Servicemen applying for the posts in CAPFs are not required to undergo PET. The Ex. Servicemen candidates for the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police have also been exempted from PET. However, all Ex-Servicemen are required to pass the written test and fulfill the physical standards prescribed for direct recruits for recruitment of Sub Inspector/ Assistant Sub-Inspector, as the case may be. They should also pass the medical standards prescribed for direct recruits.
NOTE:II The candidature of female candidates who are pregnant at the time of Physical Endurance Test will be rejected as they cannot undergo PET. No appeal/ representation will be entertained against such rejection.
Note: III SSC-CPO Medical Examination All the candidates who qualify in the PET will be medically examined by the Medical Officer of the CAPFs or any other Medical Officer or Assistant Surgeon belonging to Grade I of any Central/ State Govt. Hospital or Dispensary. Candidates who arefound to be unfit, will be informed of the position and they can make an appeal before Review Medical Board within the prescribed time limit of 15 days. Decision of Re-Medical Board/ Review Medical Board will be final and no appeal/ representation against the decision of the Re-Medical Board / Review Medical Board will be entertained. Finally selected candidates for the posts of Sub-Inspector and Assistant Sub-Inspector would, as part of training curriculum, have to pass seven obstacle events as mentioned below, failing which they may not be retained in the Force:
i) Jumping over the Vertical Board;
ii) Holding the rope on jumping from the Board.
iii) Tarzan Swing;
iv) Jumping on the Horizontal Board;
v) Parallel Rope;
vi) Monkey Crawl;
vii) Vertical Rope.
It is noticed that during medical examination, the candidates having ‘tattoos’ in various parts of their body are appearing for medical examination. In this regard, Ministry of Home Affairs vide its letters No.I-45020/7/2012/Pers-II dated 12.01.2017 and 30-01-2017 issued the
following guidelines regarding candidates having tattoos applying for SI in Delhi Police, CAPFs and CISF examination:-
(a) Content: Being a secular country, the religious sentiments of our countrymen are to be respected and thus, tattoos depicting religious symbol or figures and the name, as followed in Indian Army are to be permitted.
(b) Location: Tattoos marked on traditional sites of the body like inner aspect of forearm but only left forearm, being non saluting limb or dorsum of the hands are to be allowed.
(c) Size: Size must be less than ¼ of the particular part (Elbow or Hand) of the body. 14 The above clause is not applicable in respect of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police for the present.
SSC CPO Tier-II Exam Pattern
The SSC CPO tier-2 exam is an objective type examination which will be held via online mode. Total four sections available in the Tier 2 exam with 100 questions which comprising of 200 marks. The details are given below:-

Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper)
The Tier 3 exam would be a descriptive type paper and would be held via offline mode. This exam will carry 100 marks and time duration of the exam would be 1 hour. The Paper would comprise writing of a Passage of 250 words / Essay and Application /Letter Writing of approx. 150 words. However, for qualifying in the Tier-III exam, candidates would be passed with 33% marks.
SSC CPO 2017 Age Limit:
Candidate’s minimum age should be 20 years and applicant’s age must be under the decided age criteria as per the SSC CPO Posts.
The Commission has changed the upper age limit to 25 years for the posts which code are A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H. The age limit should be read as "not exceeding 30 years" for Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer), Inspector (Examiner) under CBEC & the age limit for Inspector post (Department of Post) the age limit can be read as "18 to 30 years".

Age relaxation will be application only for the reserved category candidates as per the Government rule - such as OBC-3 years, SC/ST- 5 years, PH – 10 years, PH + OBC - 13 years, and PH + SC/ST - 15 years.

How to Apply for SSC CPO 2017 Recruitment?
SSC CPO 2017 Online from is divided in the two Parts - Part-1 and Part-2
Part I Registration - Candidate have to fill basic information and preference of posts
Part II Registration - Candidate have to fill payment details, upload scanned signature and photograph
Candidates must have to upload recently taken photo in JPG format. The size of image less than 12kb and greater than 4kb with the resolution of 100*120 pixels. Candidates must have to upload scanned signature in JPG format. The size of image less than 12kb and greater than 1kb with the resolution of 140*60 pixels. After completing the Part-2 Registration, Candidate should take the print out of the submitted application form.
SSC CPO Application Fee - The required application fee is Rs. 100/-
No fee is required to be paid by female, ST, SC, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen candidates. Applications fee should be paid only through SBI either in the form of challan or through SBI Net Banking or any other bank Credit/Debit Card. For paying the Application fee in cash, applicants should be taken a printout of challan generated online after the completion the SSC CPO 2017 Part-1 registration. Deposit the requisite fee in any branch of SBI as well as then continue with the SSC CPO Part-2 registration 2017. Candidates who want to pay the online application fee may go directly to part-2 registration after completing the part-1 registration procedure.
