OSSTET Exam

The Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test (OSSTET) is a state-level exam conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha to recruit teachers in the secondary schools of the state. The exam is conducted in two levels – Level-I and Level-II. Level-I is for those who have passed Class XII and Level-II is for those who have passed Class Graduation. The exam tests the knowledge and eligibility of the candidates in order to determine their suitability for the post of secondary school teachers. The exam is conducted in both online and offline mode and consists of multiple-choice questions. The exam duration is 2 hours and 30 minutes. The OSSTET exam is conducted once a year.

OSSTET Exam Pattern

The OSSTET exam is conducted in two levels – Level-I and Level-II. Both the levels have two papers – Paper-I and Paper-II.

Level-I

Paper-I of Level-I exam consists of 150 multiple choice questions (MCQs) from subjects such as History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Physical Science, Mathematics, Language-I (Odia/Urdu/Telugu/Sanskrit), Language-II (English), and Environmental Science. The total marks of Paper-I is 150 marks and the duration of the exam is 2 hours 30 minutes.
