• Sound is a form of energy.
• Sound is produced by a vibrating body.
• To and fro or back and forth motion of an object is called vibration.
• Sound is produced by humans through voice box or larynx. It is situated at upper end of wind pipe. Two vocal cords, are stretched across voice box and have a narrow slit between them. When lungs force air through slit, vocal cords vibrate and produce sound.
• Sound needs a medium for propagation.
• We hear sound through our ears.
