AGE LIMIT

Aspirant should have minimum age 17 year. Now, Above 25 years candidates can also apply. In order to appear in NEET 2018 within 15% all India state quota.

Aspirants should have Indian nationality other they are not eligible for the NEET exam 2018. aspirants from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and J&K are not eligible for 15% all India state quota.

NEET 2018 Exam Pattern

The exam will be conducted in offline mode throughout the country. The total numbers of questions will 180 and it will be the multiple choice questions. The question will be from Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany. The language will be used in the exam will be English or Hindi you can choose one of them. The total duration is given to the aspirant is hours. One mark will be deducted with respect to each wrong answer and four marks will be awarded respect to each right answer.

What is National Eligibility cum Entrance Test –UG (NEET-UG)?

As per regulations framed under the Indian Medical Council Act-1956 as amended in 2016 and the Dentists Act-1948 as amended in 2016, admissions in 100% seats of MBBS/BDS will be done through NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) – (NEET-UG, ) in Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament i.e. AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry.

 

What is the responsibility of CBSE for NEET-UG ?

The responsibility of the CBSE is limited to the conduct of the entrance test, declaration of result and providing All India Rank to the Directorate General of Health Services, New Delhi for counselling of 15% All India Quota Seats and providing the result to the State Counselling Authorities and Admitting Institutions.

The Question Paper of NEET-UG, shall be based on the syllabus as notified by the Medical council of India which is at Appendix-I of the Information Bulletin of NEET-UG, available on the website www.cbseneet.nic.in.

 

What will be the pattern of NEET-UG ?

The NEET-UG consists of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only.

 

What are the duration/timings of NEET-UG ?

TThe duration of NEET-UG will be 03 hours from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. However, no entry will be allowed after 9.30 a.m.

 

Which are the cities where NEET-UG will be held?

A list of examination centre cities is provided at Appendix-II in the Information Bulletin of NEET-UG .

 

Can CBSE fix the examination centre in any city other than the three options exercised by the candidates?

Yes. Board reserves its discretion to fix the centre in other city than that of options exercised by the candidate.

 

Is CBSE reserve its discretion not to fix the centre in a city which is given in the Appendix-II?

Yes.

 

From which city foreign nationals, OCIs & PIOs can appear in NEET-UG, ?

They can choose any three cities as given in Appendix-II.

 

Can a candidate opt Imphal as centre city if residing in Delhi?

Candidates are advised to select the centre city in their State of residence or in neighbouring city only.

 

Can a centre be allotted by the CBSE manually?

No. Centre allocation is made through computer with no human intervention.

 

Can a candidate change its centre city after allotment of roll number?

In no case, centre city can be changed.

 

How to fill up ‘online’ application form for NEET-UG ? Are there any guidelines for the students before filling the application form?

Application form for NEET-UG can be submitted only online through website www.cbseneet.nic.in. Details are available under Chapter-4 “Mode of submission of Application Form and fee details” as provided in the Information Bulletin of NEET-UG . Keep the correct details ready before submission of form after carefully reading of Information Bulletin.

 

 

If any candidate face problem in filling up of form, to whom can he approach?

1. Common Services Centres will act as the Facilitation Centres this time and will provide the services against the fee prescribed.

2. They are advised to make themselves acquaint with the application form given in Information Bulletin and also on website.

3. They can go through the Replica of NEET-UG, application.

 

Whether the service of Common Services Centres is chargeable?

Yes. For submission of application form only. Details are given in Chapter-12 of Information Bulletin.

 

How to remit fee for NEET-UG ?

The examination fee for NEET-UG can be remitted in the following manner:

• Through any Debit/Credit Card using on-line gateway payment facility or

• Net Banking/UPI

• e-wallet of various service providers For details, please refer to Chapter-4 of Information Bulletin.

 

If any candidate faces any problem in remittance of fee, to whom can he/she approach?

Candidates can approach the concerned Banks on contact numbers which are available on the website of the NEET-UG, .

 

If a candidate for any reason not appearing or appeared in the examination, is there any provision for fee refund?

No. Once the online application form is submitted successfully by the candidate, it cannot be withdrawn. Claims for refund of application fee will not be entertained under any circumstances.

 

Is a candidate from Andhra Pradesh/J&K/Telangana studying in Maharashtra, eligible for 15% All India Quota seats?

In case, the candidate is not eligible to seek admission to MBBS/BDS seats in Medical/Dental Colleges in the State of Andhra Pradesh, J&K and Telangana, he will be eligible for 15% All India Quota seats. The candidate is also required to submit a self-declaration to this effect. Format is at Appendix-III of Information Bulletin.

 

What are the enclosures that should be attached with the confirmation page to be sent to the Board’s?

The candidates are NOT REQUIRED TO SEND the print out of the Confirmation Page or any document (s) to the NEET-UG Unit, CBSE.

 

If mistakenly during filling up of the form, wrong particulars are filled in the online form, how it will be corrected.

Candidates are requested to read the Information Bulletin carefully before submission of application. They should keep the entire information ready as per Replica of NEET-UG, . An opportunity after a week of last date will be given to the candidates for such corrections, if any. No correction will be allowed thereafter. All the information (especially category) which is correct on the date of submission of form will be considered valid and no change is allowed later.

 

Is a candidate passed class XII with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects from NIOS, eligible to appear for NEET-UG?

Yes, candidate passed class XII examination with an aggregate of 50% marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-Technology and also passed English in the Qualifying Examination from any recognized Board/University can appear in the NEET-UG subject to fulfilling other conditions.

If a student studied up to class 11th from CBSE Board from KSA/abroad and class XII from CBSE School in India, will he/she be eligible to appear in NEET-UG?

Yes.

 

Is it compulsory to take Maths if I want to appear in NEET-UG, ?

Mathematics is not required for NEET-UG, .

 

Is there any provision to challenge the response(s) against the OMR grading?

An opportunity to challenge the answer key, through online mode, against payment of Rs. 1000/- per answer challenge, shall be given, before declaration of result. The candidates may remain in touch with the website www.cbseneet.nic.in after the examination.

 

Can a candidate, appearing in Class XII in the year , is eligible to appear in NEET-UG, ?

Yes.

 

Is the availability of forms will be online or can it be purchased from any bank or institution.

The application forms are available online only. A candidate can apply by logging into website www.cbseneet.nic.in. Forms are not available in any bank or institution.

 

How to send confirmation Page of Application Form of NEET-UG, ?

The candidates are NOT REQUIRED TO SEND the the Confirmation Page of the online application form or any document (s) to NEET-UG Unit.

 

Can one send confirmation page of online application through courier?

No. Form is not required to be sent to CBSE. It is 100% Online procedure for submission of NEET-UG application form.

 

If a candidate born in USA and studied in India and holding OCI Card wants to apply for NEET-UG, is he/she is eligible for NEET-UG, ?

Yes. Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) are Eligible for appearing in the NEET-UG, and also eligible for seats under 15% All India Quota. Eligibility of OCI candidates for admission under seats in the control of States/Universities/Institutions shall be ascertained before applying for NEET-UG, .

 

What is the mean by PH-1 & PH-2 category?

Differently abled candidates as per MCI guidelines are:

PH-1

Candidates with locomotor disability of lower limbs from 50% to 70%

PH-2

Candidates with locomotor disability of lower limbs from 40% to less than 50%

 

 

What is the reservation criteria for seats falling under the jurisdiction of States?

It is as per State Reservation Policy.

 

What are the reservation criteria for 15% All India Quota seats?

(i) 15% seats are reserved for SC candidates,

(ii) 7.5% seats are reserved for ST candidates,

(iii) 27% seats as per Central Act are reserved for non-creamy layer OBC candidates only in Central Educational Institutions. Reservation would be applicable to the castes mentioned in the Central list of OBC. Thus, the candidates falling in this list may mention OBC-NCL in the Category Column in application form. Candidates from creamy layer and those who do not come under Central List of OBC are advised to mention their category as Unreserved (UR).

(iv) 3% seats are reserved on horizontal basis for Physically Handicapped candidates.

 

What are the qualifying criteria of NEET-UG for preparing a merit list?

The Central Board of Secondary Education will prepare an All India Merit List of successful candidates of NEET – on the basis of the eligibility criteria provided by the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India as given in Graduate Medical Education Regulations-1997 issued under Indian Medical Council Act-1956 and BDS Course Regulations, 2007 under the Dentists Act, 1948. The eligibility criteria are as follows:

(a) In order to be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses for a particular academic year, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain minimum of marks at 50th percentile in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test to MBBS/BDS Courses held for the said academic year. However, in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks shall be at 40th percentile. In respect of candidates with locomotor disability of lower limbs terms of Clause 4(a) iv (of regulations), the minimum marks shall be at 45th percentile for UR-PH and 40th percentile for SC-PH, ST-PH & OBC-PH candidates. The percentile shall be determined on the basis of highest marks secured in the All India common merit list in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS/BDS courses.

(b) Provided when sufficient number of candidates in the respective categories fail to secure minimum marks as prescribed in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test held for any academic year for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses, the Central Government in consultation with Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India may at its discretion lower the minimum marks required for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses for candidates belonging to respective categories and marks so lowered by the Central Government shall be applicable for the said academic year only.

(c) To be eligible for the admission to MBBS/BDS Courses, a candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology at the Qualifying Examination as mentioned in Graduate Medical Education Regulations-1997 and BDS Course Regulations, 2007 and in addition must have come in the merit list of National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses. In respect of the candidates belonging to the SC, ST and OBC category the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology taken in qualifying examination and competitive examination (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) be 40% marks instead of 50%. In respect of candidates with locomotor disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for Gen-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required. Provided that a candidate who has appeared in the qualifying examination the result of which has not been declared, he may be provisionally permitted to take up the competitive entrance examination and in case of selection for admission to the MBBS/BDS courses, he shall not be admitted to that course until he fulfils the eligibility criteria as specified above. A list of the successful candidates in order of All India Rank based on the score obtained in the examination will be prepared by the Board.

 

How the CBSE will declare the result?

CBSE will declare the result based on the qualifying criteria provided by Medical/Dental Council of India wherein All India Rank will be given to the candidates in percentile rank.

 

What is the meaning of percentile rank?

A percentile rank is the percentage of score that fall below a given score in a group.

 

How the merit list will be prepared by the States?

States will prepare their own merit list based on All India Rank keeping in view the category of candidates.

 

How the merit list will be prepared for 15% All India Quota seats?

Based on All India Rank and the reservation roster provided by DGHS, merit list for All India quota will be prepared.

 

How does one know the complete guidelines/instructions for NEET-UG, ?

What do you mean by All-India quota seats?

15% seats surrendered by Government Medical/Dental Colleges run as per the approval of MCI/DCI filled through the counseling conducted by DGHS is known as All India Quota seats.

 

Will there be negative marking in NEET-UG, ?

Yes. Each correct answer will get 04 marks and for each incorrect response, 01 mark will be deducted from the total score.

 

How long the result of NEET-UG, is valid?

The result of successful candidates of NEET-UG, is valid for the academic session -18 only.

 

Is there any helpline for NEET-UG, examination for the aspirants?

Yes. Details are available on website.

 

Can anyone cancel the application submitted for NEET-UG, ?

Online Application forms once submitted successfully cannot be cancelled/ withdrawn.

 

What do the candidates need to bring to the exam centre?

The candidate is required to bring following at the examination centre:-

• Admit Card along with passport size photograph affixed on it;

• One Post Card Size Photograph affixed on the proforma and

• One passport size photograph to be affixed on attendance sheet. Candidates are advised not to bring any other item at the examination centres. There will not be any arrangement for safe keeping of any material at the centre. Neither CBSE nor centre will be responsible for any loss, delay etc.

 

Can the candidate bring anything other than that mentioned in S.No.41 above to the examination centre?

No other article will be allowed at the examination centre. Hence, candidate should not carry any other things.

 

Will any candidate be able to leave early if he finishes the test before the allocated test time?

No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall/room before the test concludes.

 

If one does not get Admit Card, whom should he contact?

Admit cards will not be sent to candidates. These will be uploaded on website. Candidates need to download the Admit Card from the website only.

 

How will one know the result of the NEET-UG, ?

The result of NEET-UG, will be uploaded on the website www.cbseneet.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in as per schedule.

 

Who will conduct Counselling after NEET-UG, ?

• For 15% All India Quota seats, counseling will be conducted by the DGHS.

• For seats under the control of States/Universities/Institutions, their respective authorities will conduct the counseling.

 

Can one see images of OMR sheets and Responses on website?

The images of OMR Sheet and Responses captured by the machine will be displayed on the website www.cbseneet.nic.in. For exact date of hosting, candidates may remain in touch with website.

 

Is there any provision for re-checking of answer sheet?
